A new species of Odontophrynus (Anura, Odontophrynidae) from the southern portion of the Mantiqueira mountains

Using an integrative approach (morphology of the adult and larvae, bioacoustics, osteology, karyotype, molecular data), we described a new tetraploid species Odontophrynus to Mantiqueira mountain range, in southeastern Brazil. The data suggest that toledoi sp. nov., O. juquinha (aff. juquinha) comprise clade with specimens distributed along three distinct ranges Brazil: (O. nov.) Espinhaço mountains, both Brazil, Diamantina Plateau aff. juquinha), northeastern is morphologically similar closely related juquinha, but distinguished morphology (both larval), karyotype nov. diploid), corroborated by phylogenetic inferences. We also show these do not exchange haplotypes 16s gene. Furthermore, although raw acoustic parameters overlap at limits their ranges, found clear difference space structure.
